Sridhar/Thayil has been played on NTS shows including Explorations w/ Digging In India, with Bring Me Rain first played on 22 January 2025.

She sings jazz, western classical and Indian classical. He does spoken word, plays blues and funk guitar. When they play together, expect operatic scat and pirate growl over home-made broken beats. They're called Sridhar/Thayil, and they make for one dirty sexy act. Rolling Stone Magazine India calls them "two of the most uninhibited people that ever came together to play with music."

Formed in late 2007 in Bangalore, Sridhar/Thayil is a lyrical pop duo from Bombay-NY-NJ-Hong Kong. Their "brand of urban grime" concocts sweet jazz vocals with mean gravelly talk over wailing blues guitar and electronic back beats.

S/T has been known to combine scratchy beats with pop melodies and operatic vocals with Hindustani funk; and they play a range of characters as part of their live act: a demented preacher, a three year old, a drowning man…

The duo has taken their signature lyrical-melodramatic-punkery to stages such as the Great Escape (Brighton), the Southbank Centre (London), Galle Literary Festival (Sri Lanka), and the Prithvi Theatre Festival (Mumbai).

S/T 's live gigs are known for their improvisational chaos and random guest collaborations such as Noush Like Sploosh (theremin), Dr Das of the ADF (bass), Kishore Sodha from RD Burman's original horn section (trumpet) and Stefan Kaye of Emperor Minge (keys) amongst others.
