B.K. Habermehl is the pastel princess. She is also a singer, songwriter, pianist, producer and actress living in the L.A. area. Her music is an amalgamation of influences from Erykah Badu to Astrud Gilberto, and of her own personal style. B.K.’s approach to songwriting is to nestle her lyrics into their perfect places amongst the instrumentation; she feels the chords she writes on piano create puzzle piece shaped holes that she just naturally fills with her melodies.
Her first acting gig was at 8 years old, when she was a member of Madison, Wisconsin’s Young Shakespeare Players. This troupe was known for producing uncut Shakespearean productions acted by children between the ages of 8 and 18. This was just the beginning of her involvement in a wide variety of choirs, plays, and musicals, culminating in her admission to New York University. At NYU, B.K. created her own major studying music and Africana studies, and named it “The Self Sufficient Recording Artist and the African Diaspora.” After graduation she moved back to her home base of L.A., and began taking classes with Faline England at Diana Castle’s Imagined Life Acting Studio, as well as working with Grammy nominated talents such as Akon.
She is currently recording and performing her original music throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Her debut single “Owe Me That” is available now on all platforms!
