Hoyah is the creative alias of Berlin-based sound engineer and producer Shmuel Hatchwell, officially launched in 2024 with the release Set + Setting on BRUK Records, part of the Low End Activist label family.

For hoyah, Hatchwell intentionally imposed strict creative constraints:

Use only saxophone samples as the sonic voice. No beats. Minimal computer use, working primarily with an MPC to treat it like a live instrument
