2) David Reynolds, an Alaskan singer-songwriter, worked as a fisherman and carpenter during his early years of writing. The work often took him to remote camps for months at a time, where he embraced the isolation and untamed beauty of the Alaskan wilderness and used them as a source of inspiration to craft new songs. Outfitted with only a notebook, acoustic guitar, and a powerful singing voice, he writes of wanderlust, adventure, human connection, and wonderment of the natural world.
Reynolds self-released his first collection of songs in 2008, titled . These simple acoustic-and-vocal recordings captured the songs in a pure, raw form, almost as if hearing them while sitting around the campfire. Reynolds took these songs and began performing them at venues throughout Alaska, and before long, around the Western U.S. He went on to record several more albums, most notably the EP in 2012, with the track quickly becoming a fan favorite. Reynolds currently has several projects in production including an upcoming full-length album.
