Paira is an electronic alt-rock duo based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, comprised of Clara Borges (@claragbb) and André Pádua (dedecovgmdj) The band takes influences that at first might seem incompatible and turns them into something nostalgic yet innovative. Those references range from the powerful and emotive guitars from bands like Cap'n Jazz, Number Girl, Grouper and American Football, to the energetic breakbeats from acts like Goldie and Squarepusher. Their first EP (titled simply EP 01) shows that entire range, going from in-your-face breakcore and Drum & Bass beats to mellow and dreamy UK Garage and downtempo infused breaks.
