He debuted in 1996 alongside the Chicano supergroup DarkRoom Familia (Barrio Love) and as a solo artist (Interview With a Chicano).
He continued collaborating with the Familia and recording solo albums through the decade and became widely known for his introspective view of barrio life in California, particularly the dark side with its drugs and violence and its emphasis on survival.
In 2002, Brown Power released a pair of Sir Dyno albums, Engrave These Words on My Stone and the Good Times, Bad Times best-of collection.
