The EP captures the balance between confidence and vulnerability — club records that hit with purpose but live in emotion and movement. Following viral singles like “Fast Money” (with DaBoii & 22nd Jim) and the recent “Apologize” (with Gwen Bunn), Drewbyrd continues to prove that his sound can be global — transcending borders while still rooted in California culture.
A five-song project, featuring additional collaborations with UK rapper Sainté and Oakland’s rising singer Shanté, the EP is fully produced by Drewbyrd himself. It delivers a modern take on dance-electronic music, with noticeable influence from house, hip-hop, and R&B.
Rolling out the project through a series of comical and satirical skits, Drewbyrd enlisted a circle of close friends and artists — including Larry June, Nico Hiraga, Zack Fox, Christina Nadin, Eyedress, Sandy Kim, Jasper, and Suki — to bring the world of Mr. Big Dog to life. Co-written with Cam Hicks, the two have created a compelling and entertaining short-form series that blends humor, art, and community.
Drewbyrd’s Mr. Big Dog, Please Press Play is out now on all streaming platforms.
