From the host: "Post-punk in Peru emerged mainly within the framework of Rock Subterráneo, a movement that took shape in the mid-1980s on the margins of official circuits. Bands inspired by post-punk currents circulating globally forged, from their own social realities, a language that combined introspection, experimentation, and social critique. More than a mood, Peruvian post-punk expressed a collective sensibility shaped by the violence and precariousness that afflicted the country, turning that unrest into a form of creation and affirmation within the local underground."
