The first incarnation of Korn was a Funk Metal/Hardcore Punk/Thrash band known as L.A.P.D. At first L.A.P.D. stood for 'Love and Peace Dude'; however they later changed the name to 'Laughing As People Die' in order to be taken more seriously as a band.
