Kenji Washio Schecterson (born December 27, 1999), known professionally as Kenji, is an American singer-songwriter known for his R&B and Contemporary R&B sound. Of Japanese heritage, Kenji was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where he sang for fun throughout his youth and dabbled in freestyling with friends over YouTube beats. In addition to music, he also works as a model. It was during the 2020 lockdown, however, that he began to explore music more seriously. Picking up the guitar, Kenji found his voice as an artist, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of artists including D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Frank Ocean.

Kenji debuted with his single "24/7" in 2021. Since then, Kenji put out more singles and releases with friends and collaborators before releasing his debut EP between heaven & earth (2024).

He is also a member of the group bbyblu, comprising him, Norah's World, and 3ee. They debuted in 2025, with their hit single "561".
