Mondo Lava has been played on NTS shows including All Styles All Smiles, with Kwaku Limbo first played on 24 January 2017.

Split between Davis, CA, United States and Pamplona, Spain, Mondo Lava is James Ketchum and Leon Hu (and sometimes Gareth Ewing). Their music channels the prismatic psych pop of 1970s tropicália and compositional frameworks from dub, free jazz and new age music into the hazy atmospheres.

Mondo Lava's debut album, Parrot Head Cartridge, came out in 2014. Four more full-length installments have been released since (as of 2025).
