Yung Hurn

Yung Hurn has been played on NTS shows including City Rhythms w/ Mack, with Bianco first played on 6 September 2017.

Yung Hurn (born Julian Sellmeister on 18 January 1995) is an Austrian hip-hop musician. Since 2016, he has also performed under the alias K. Ronaldo, portraying a fictional older brother, with the initial K. interpreted as either Kristallo or Kristus. He was a member of the Berlin-based artist collective Live From Earth until early 2020.

Yung Hurn grew up in the Hirschstetten district of Vienna and played football with SV Hirschstetten until under-15 level. He left school early and began rapping in 2014 after meeting the Austrian rapper Rap4Fikk. In 2015, he released the EP "Wiener Linien" with producer Lex Lugner and later that year his debut mixtape "22", which included the track "Nein", recognized in the German magazine Juice as one of the top ten national music releases of the year.

In 2016, he released the "Krocha Tape" and, as K. Ronaldo, the mixtape "I Wanted to Kill Myself but Today is my Mothers Birthday". He also collaborated with German rapper RIN on the single "Bianco", initially intended for their joint album "Mafia der Liebe", which became the single of the year in Juice’s annual charts. On 23 December 2016, the compilation "In Memory of Yung Hurn – Classic Compilation" was released digitally and for streaming, with a limited vinyl edition issued in June 2017. That year he also released the EP "Love Hotel" and the singles "Popo" and "Ok Cool". In June 2017, he announced via Twitter that he would stop rapping after 2017, but later in December released the single "GGGut" and announced his debut studio album "1220", which was released on 4 May 2018 and produced by DJ Stickle.

In 2019, he released the single "Cabrio" and announced his second studio album "Y", which was released on 8 November 2019. The album generated some criticism for its use of sexualized language. He also indicated working on an album with the Love Hotel Band. In May 2022, he performed at the opening of the Wiener Festwochen, which drew controversy over the lyrical content of his songs, leading to criticism and debate in the media.

In 2022, he released the singles "Schlimm ;-(", "Alleine (Sw43 L33 D1do Remix)", and "Eine Nase". His mixtape "Crazy Horse Club Mixtape Vol.1" was released on 2 December 2022.

Yung Hurn’s early music has been associated with cloud rap, influenced by artists such as Three 6 Mafia and Lil B. He has also cited influences from indie music, techno, psychedelic rock, and artists including Tame Impala, Falco, the Beatles, and Jimi Hendrix. His work outside traditional hip-hop includes the "Love Hotel" EP, produced by DJ Stickle, featuring R&B and retro-pop elements. The Love Hotel Band, which includes Yung Hurn and other performers, also performs live. Some of his productions, such as "Popo" and "Coco Jambo" under K. Ronaldo, incorporate elements of 1990s rave culture.
