Macho

Macho has been played on NTS in shows including The NTS Breakfast Show w/ Flo, featured first on 24 August 2020. Songs played include Un Sogno.

There are three artists called Macho:

Macho is a punk-rock band from Ferndale, Michigan that debuted as a project from the COVID-19 pandemic between a group of friends. Self-defined as "Detroit Witch Punk", they intend to paint an eerie atmosphere with their music. Their music is on most DSPs, and they have released 3 eps, "EP I", "EP II", and "EP III" respectively, and one album, "Abandon! Abandon!"

A current band in Barcelona; "Define Macho's music? Take note: Their primitive rock and lack of artifices will make you move your hips and frontal lobe. Macho makes the walls sweat, the birds migrate. Men cry in the corners, women enter in a state of heat like possessed by the devil. Macho is the only band capable of altering the rotation of Earth. Macho exists since the beginning of time. But, thank God, you can see, enjoy them live now and here."

Macho was a lead and background vocalist originally from Bologna, Italy. Always fascinated by disco music, in 1978 Marzio Vincenzi convinced his friend Mauro Malavasi to produce his first record, "I'm A Man". The title track, a remake of the Steve Winwood piece, had an immediate and favourable outcome. Subsequently, with the advent of what is identified by many as 'rosco music' (a hybrid between rock and disco) Macho released the album "Roll" in 1980. Unlike Malavasi, whose career continued to develop, Macho died in 1998.
