Pay As You Go Cartel

Pay As You Go Cartel

Pay As You Go Cartel has been played over 10 times on NTS, first on 13 May 2017. Pay As You Go Cartel's music has been featured on 12 episodes.

One of the largest UK garage crews, Pay As You Go Cartel (a.k.a. Pay As U Go Cartel) is notable as being the starting place for MCs Wiley, Gods Gift, Maxwell D, Breeze and Flow Dan, producer Target, and also UK underground music figureheads DJ Slimzee and Geeneus. Along with Heartless Crew and the So Solid Crew, Pay As You Go are recognised as pioneering influences on the grime sound.

Pay As You Go eventually rose to be one of the premier UK Garage acts, headlining huge raves like Milton Keynes Sidewinder and London's Garage Nation. They had two major club hits, the first 'Know We' and the second 'Champagne Dance', which was signed by Sony and reached #12 in the UK Singles' Chart.

Shortly after Pay As You Go were soon dropped from their label, and the group broke up soon afterwards. In 2008/2009 some of the former members re-formed the crew. Often the original crew perform at Pay As U Go reunions.
