A snippet of the wide genre of 80s South African 'bubblegum' music, a sound defined by rattling drum machines blended with the sharp synths of disco and SA genres like marabi and Afro-jazz.

This is a mix by the LA-based DJ/Producer extraordinaire Jon Trini as we prepare for Junkyard Jouvert in Los Angeles on Saturday June 21. This mix features new Bouyon from Dominica as well as records from the region that are directly inspired by the Bouyon sound. Enjoy!
