Eugene, Oregon's To Be Gentle was a three-piece that drew from the cathartic screamo framework, while building upon it and expanding it outward into an idiosyncratic sound that they could call their own. They played a melodic style of screamo that implemented the sonic tenets of many other genres, including post-rock, atmospheric black metal, emo, melodic hardcore, and even ambient at times. Their sophomore album L'autre Côté de la Peur is their great magnum opus and a true gemstone amongst their prolific and eclectic discography. To Be Gentle was formed in 2017 by Eve Beeker and Pat Fisher.
