SHEFFIELD
10:00 - 12:00

Two hours of uncanny pop and eerie synth minimalism from Sheffield pioneers The Human League. Formed in Sheffield in 1977, The Human League started as an experimental, post-industrial synth trio. After key members left in 1980, Philip Oakey rebuilt the band with two teenage vocalists, shifting towards the more charismatic (and commercially viable) new wave sound that thrust them into the mainstream. Their 1981 album Dare and the hit “Don’t You Want Me” went on to define early ’80s electronic pop.

Future Glue

Future Glue

Future Glue has been played on NTS in shows including Optimo, featured first on 15 June 2021. Songs played include Devil's Pulpit.

Future Glue are a staple in Glasgow's DIY Punk / Rock and Roll scene - most recently playing at the excellent and renowned FREAKENDER. Here's what the guys at FREAKENDER had to say ahead of their performance last month:

"Future Glue have been destroying stages in Glasgow for a few years now and have released a number of singles and EP's to coincide with their destruction. The band have released on local labels such as FUZZKILL RECORDS, Electric Company and Dead Beet and are known around town for their visceral live shows and unashamedly punk attitude.

Luckily Future Glue walk the rock n roll walk and talk it too - better than all that, they play it! Razor sharp guitars with screeching feedback, deftly drumming, pummeling bass lines, vocals slurred and sneering with pure nonchalance. There’s a whiff of The Fall, The Gun Club, Billy Childish and BRMC in Future Glue’s garage and punk rock and roll assaults".
