The Milky Way has been played on NTS shows including Los Hitters, with High School Girl first played on 10 August 2021.

There are two acts who perform under the name The Milky Way

1) a city-pop/jazz-funk duo that consisted of Kazuo Nobuta and Makoto Matsushita. They released their only album Summer-Time Love Song in 1979, two years before Makoto begun his solo career with First Light.

2) a multipiece hip-hop band from Los Angeles with ties to the Atlanta music scene.
