Urbano Moraes (Montevideo, February 27, 1949) is an Uruguayan composer, bassist and singer. His participation as bassist in El Kinto between 1968 and 1970 makes him figure among the great representatives of what was later called candombe beat, a genre characterized by the mixture of candombe rhythms and forms with pop and psychedelic rock especially inspired by the last stage of The Beatles, bossa nova, samba and other genres of great rhythmic richness.
