In Motion were an independent band from Crumlin in Dublin that formed in 1988 and broke up in 1995 inspired by Felt and 4AD bands like the Cocteau Twins. Liam Ryan, Alan Kelly and John Duff met at school and Alan O'Boyle joined in 1993 after their first release on a compilation 12" by Hope Records called 'A Statement Is A Weapon In An Empty Hand'. A 3 track 7″ called ‘For An Evening’s Velvet Ending’ followed in 1993, then an LP on Dublin's Dead Elvis Records called 'The Language of Everyday Life' in 1994. The LP was recently digitally re-issued with 2 bonus tracks. After the band broke up Alan Kelly released records as The Last Post, Alan O'Boyle recorded as Decal, and John Duff joined Mexican Pets.
