The Future

The Future

The Future has been played on NTS in shows including Soup To Nuts w/ Lupini, featured first on 22 February 2022. Songs played include Unclear Holocaust (Re-mix Version).

There are, at least, five bands with this name.

1) The band from which The Human League & Clock DVA later emerged. Founded by Ian Craig Marsh, Martyn Ware & Adi Newton in 1977 in Sheffield, UK (see blindYouth.co.uk for further early Human League info.).

2) An indie-pop quartet out of Nashville, TN. http://www.myspace.com/thefutureband

3) A Welsh post-hardcore band Hondo Maclean died and was reborn in the shape of The Future in late 2006/early 2007. The name change reflected a shift in sound and attitude. In May 2008, they announced that they too were to split, but that other projects would be in the pipeline.

4) A Melbourne based, ad-hoc electro group formed by members of The Cat Empire (Ollie McGill - piano/synths) Ambergris (Harry Shaw Reynolds - drums & Dan Marsh - keyboards/synths/samples), True Live (Ivan "Choi" Khatchoyan - drums & Thai Matus - keyboards/synths) and included 'special' guests Aaron Light (drums - 12 Tone Diamonds), Carlo Barbaro (saxophones - The Empire Horns/VADA), Nash Lee (Rabid Hawke/12 Tone Diamonds).
