Argan has been played on NTS shows including Discostan, with Umlil (Ajdig) first played on 7 April 2022.

Argan is a Berber electro group from southern Morocco. The groups' name is the name of a small tree that exists widely in the Souss Region of Morocco where the band is from (and in a tiny part of Mexico.) This tree symbolizes their Berber heritage. Argan found a way to integrate 'arab' vocals and rhythms not only with rock guitars or drum and base but with imaginative electronic effects as well. The inspiration for the album 'South Moroccan Motor Berber' came from a village of south of Agadir. In the late sixties and early seventies hippies came there in search of mind-altering substances and experiences. The themes are about how the hippies influenced the locals and the stories as well as traditional Berber roots.
