Mercedes Nasta, the voice at the helm of Disco Ruido, who discovers her own intimate path in her bewitching debut album, Basalto —released in 2016 and produced by Benjamin Shwartz, from Klezmerson. Although she does not completely detach herself from electronic sound, Mercedes Nasta manages to present with this material a different sound from what she had been doing, and through pop, ambient, tropical and downtempo styles, she draws an indirect portrait of a mixed-race society.
