A riff on Jon Hassell's Fourth World series. Where Hassell focused on creating ritual music of potential societies that didn't exist; Ian Kim Judd seeks to evoke the notion of potential utopian societies that could exist. In these times of global instability and uncertainty, Fifth World seeks to posit an alternative, with scenes from an optimistic future.

Barely Alive

Barely Alive

Barely Alive has been played on NTS shows including Gutterring, with Experts (Barely Alive Remix) first played on 11 January 2023.

BARELY ALIVE is a dubstep producer duo made up by two childhood friends from Massachusetts, US, named Willie Watkins and Matt Meier. The project was created in 2013 and quickly stormed the dubstep scene and established themselves as some of the top producers in the game, touring the world and releasing hundreds of retro-infused bangers.

The duo initially made a name for themselves when they released their debut ‘Lost In The Internet’ EP through Disciple Recordings in late February 2014 to global acclaim, hitting the number one spot across 4 different genre charts on Beatport in just 24 hours. This made Barely Alive an over night success and to this date have been labelled as the second highest selling dubstep artist of 2014 on Beatport by Beatport themselves.

Touring as a singular box-headed figure, called WATT, the ever-angry anthropomorphism of the duo's logo, Barely Alive has been seen on festival stages across the globe, including EDC Las Vegas, Lost Lands, Tomorrowland, Coachella and Rampage, as well as headline shows in nearly every continent including Australia, Europe, South America, Asia, and across the US.

The two have regularly released hard-hitting EPs and singles as well as two full-length albums on labels such as Disciple, Never Say Die, OWSLA, Monstercat, Mad Decent and Dim Mak. Their collaboration credits include Virtual Riot, 12th Planet, Snails and Getter, and they have remixed for DJ Snake, Excision, Zomboy, Eptic, and many others.

The two are also known for making sample packs.
