Midwife’s multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer Madeline Johnston presents “Machines of Loving Grace,” a monthly transmission featuring her new finds and old favorites with a focus on the golden age of DIY community, cosmic sentimentalism, world music, and experimental pop. “Machines of Loving Grace” is a gateway into Johnston’s process and personal soundtrack. Inspired by the Richard Brautigan poem, Midwife’s curated playlists explore the idea of “a cybernetic ecology;” acoustic and electronic sources reflect on our humanity as well as our animalistic nature in the context of a digital landscape.

Millionaires

Millionaires

Millionaires has been played on NTS in shows including Spinee, featured first on 24 May 2024. Songs played include Take Your Shirt Off.

Millionaires is an Asian-American electronic music group currently consisting of Melissa Marie Green, Meredith Hurley, and Anissa Zermeno. The group, formed in August 2007, originally consisted of Green and her sister Allison Green, with Dani Artaud joining shortly after. The group are widely known for mixing heavily explicit lyrics with a heavy electropop backing. Their image and lyrics generated strong controversy during their early years (mainly for using explicit words in nearly all of their songs). The band released three EPs, several singles — including "Stay the Night", which managed to chart for a short time in the UK, and their debut album, Tonight, released in March 2013. In March 2016 they released a single with producer Wade Martin titled "When I'm Single". Much of their music style was ground-breaking in forming the crunkcore genre, and their music has also been mentioned as one of the major influences behind the 2020 re-emergence of the hyperpop microgenre.

The members are also widely known as being one of the first to become "Internet famous" (a term which is now commonly known as an influencer), gaining huge notoriety and popularity during the "myspace era" within the emergence of social media.
