There are at least two bands named "Netzer"
1.) The nu-jazz-trio Netzer from Stuttgart, Germany 2.) The jewish rock band Netzer from San Diego, USA
1.) Netzer (Stuttgart) is a band that has developed over the years.
The joy of playing live and taking risks are what drives them, and electronic music in a living jazz arrangement is on the program.
The unconventional guitar trio combines improvisation and interaction with a modern DJ culture aesthetic. Programmed art is now being played by hand. Energy flows and the atmosphere is intense. Netzer like to turn relationships on their head and have a very reduced approach. And the result is that the room rocks!
Netzer is a creative playground for the three musicians. After many years of playing together the creative output flows freely.
Guitarist Markus Birkle is famous for his tone conscious playing. He plays various string instruments, creates effects and feeds his loop machine with the resulting material.
Mr. Bodenseh is the contrabass and moog expert. He is both fundamentalist and free spirit. He is routined and has played with some of the jazz greats.
Oli Rubow has been fascinated with the aesthetic of electronic beats for years. Netzer gives his pent-up knowledge an outlet. His minimal drum kit is joined by an echo machine. So when these friends are not otherwise engaged playing shows with renowned artists like Die Fantastischen Vier, De Phazz and many others, they get together and further their own band!
