There are at least two artists with the name David Moore:
1) New York City pianist, organist and composer David Moore sits at the vanguard of instrumental music. As founder and leader of minimalist music ensemble Bing & Ruth, Moore has prioritized grace and texture - form built on feeling.
Since 2006 he has been the sole composer and driving force behind Bing & Ruth, the shape-shifting ensemble that redefined the boundaries of ambient music in the 21st century. To date, Bing & Ruth has released four full-length albums and five EPs through iconic record labels 4AD & RVNG Intl.
In collaboration with guitarist Steve Gunn, David released the hauntingly beautiful album Let the Moon be a Planet in 2023 and, less than a year later, Live in London, an LP recorded at Cafe Oto, the legendary UK home for experimental and improvised music. Moore is also one third of the group Cowboy Sadness, alongside members of The Antlers and Port St. Willow. Their debut album Selected Jambient Works, Vol. 1 was released in 2024 to overwhelming critical acclaim.
In addition to these projects David Moore continues to work tirelessly as both an internationally touring solo artist and as an organist with growing focus on the intersection of Appalachian folk music and drone.
He lives in New York City.
