Born in Los Angeles, CA, United States, Miles Shannon has been actively involved in music going back to his early teenage years playing saxophone around LA and NY. Miles has studied under artists such as Walter Smith III and Terell Stafford, and collaborated with artists from Earl Sweatshirt to Hope Shorter. Miles started conceiving CASSOWARY at 19, mixing Jazz, Funk, R&B, Hip Hop, and Psych-Rock.

Cassowary is Brian Leahy's instrumental group, formed in spring 2008 during his junior year at the University of New Hampshire. Brian is from Marblehead, MA, United States.
