True Swamp Neglect has been played on NTS shows including Natalia Panzer, with Hamburger Skies first played on 23 October 2022.

True Swamp Neglect are only the latest in a succession of several groups (including the near-legendary Weazel Fury) formed during the nineties by the same group of school-friends from the Bournemouth suburb of Boscombe.

"The Swamp" in particular formed around the turn of the Millenium, coalescing around five names - guitarist/lyricist Chris Catlin, guitarist Ed Mitchell, bassist Ciaran Longrigg, drummer Barney Lyall, and theremin-manipulator Ian Evans, who had also taught music at their high school.
