Joe Byrd And The Field Hippies has been played on NTS in shows including The Athenian Marketplace , featured first on 25 April 2015. Songs played include Leisure World, Moonsong: Pelog and The Sub-Sylvian Litanies.

The Field Hippies were put together by composer Joseph Byrd, former leader of the psychedelic group The United States of America after the latter group's demise. They released one album in 1969 entitled The American Metaphysical Circus.
