Ruth Gipps (20 February 1921 – 23 February 1999) was a British composer, oboist, pianist and impresario.

Ruth Gipps was born in Bexhill-on-Sea, England in 1921. She was a child prodigy, winning performance competitions in which she was considerably younger than the rest of the field.
