Francis McPeake I (born in Belfast on 5 May 1885; died 17 March 1971) was the first-generation Irish uilleann piper in the Belfast-based McPeake family. "Will Ye Go Lassie Go", aka 'Wild Mountain Thyme', 'Blooming Heather', and 'Purple Heather', was written by him between 1948 and 1950.

Francis McPeake II (born on 20 January 1917; died 7 July 1986) was the second-generation Irish uilleann piper in the Belfast-based McPeake family.

Francis McPeake lll (born Francis Joseph McPeake on 30 April 1942; died 12 October 2024) was a third-generation Irish uilleann piper in the Belfast-based McPeake family.

In 1959, Francis l and ll, plus James McPeake, release their first album as "The McPeake Family of Belfast".
