Dr. Sharma is a distinguished musician. He has been recognised for his excellence and proficiency in the field of music through recognitions like: Artist of the Year by Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Bangalore, Govt. of Karnataka, prestigious ‘Karnataka Kalashree’ Award for Excellence in Music and Ganakalashree Award for his contributions to the field of music. He has trained thousands of orphans and destitute women and youths in various Engineering trades. On 23-1-2023, he was awarded ‘Prof. S. Kannaiyan Memorial Award (for the year 2022)’ during 13th NABS National conference held on 23-1-2023 at Periyar University, Salem, Tamilnadu.
