Peter Brewis

Peter Brewis

Peter Brewis has been played on NTS shows including Martyn's Darkest Light, with Barcelona (At Eye Level) first played on 21 February 2024.

Peter Brewis is best known as a core member of the Sunderland, United Kingdom-based band Field Music along with his brother David Brewis, together having released 9 'proper' albums along with a number of other projects. Following the announcement of the band's temporary hiatus after the release of their second album, Peter released an eponymous solo album under the name The Week That Was. After having worked with a variety of other musicians including Paul Smith and Sarah Hayes, 2023's Blowdry Colossus is his first release under his own name, consisting of synth-driven riffs, unusually experimental samples (including a literal blowdryer), and a general looseness that manages to set it apart from prior releases while still maintaining an identifiably Brewis-driven sound.
