Mandingo has been played on NTS in shows including Channeling w/ Ivan Smagghe & Nathan Gregory Wilkins, featured first on 28 October 2014. Songs played include Black Rite, Moon Goddess and Bird Of Prey.

Mandingo Griot Society were a Chicago-based quartet who fused elements of African, jazz, funk, and blues musics. Jazz trumpeter Don Cherry guested on this, the band's 1978 debut album. See also: Adam Rudolph, Foday Musa Suso.
