The Bar Boys has been played on NTS shows including Diddy Wah, with Hit The Road Jack first played on 11 March 2024.

The Bar Boys were a garage band formed in Paragould, Arkansas in 1964. The original group was David Yates, Lead guitar, Mike Ford, drums, Charlie Schaaf, guitar, Bobby Mitchell, bass. The group evolved with Bill Morgan on drums for a period of time and later was made up of David Yates, guitar, Eddie Ross, drums, Tommy Arnold, keyboard, Greig Lynn, bass. It was this group who recorded "Sound of My Heart (written by Jamie Holmes of Senath, Missouri) amd Hit the Road Jack. The group enjoyed significant regional success throughout Northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri and west Tennessee through out the mid 60's and early 70's. The final group prior to disbanding was David Yates, guitar, Tommy Arnold, Keyboard, Eddie Ross, drums, Greig Lynn, bass, Steve Lynn, guitar, Gail Sain, vocals. A brief reunion of all previous members took place in 1985 for a special event held in Paragould, Arkansas.
