Cloudboy

Cloudboy

Cloudboy has been played on NTS in shows including Down at the End of the Garden w/ Flying Nun Records, featured first on 5 May 2024. Songs played include (You're So) Pretty and Cup Of Roses.

Cloudboy is one of New Zealand’s most respected contemporary music ensembles, and over the last few years the group has moved its focus to the multi-media arena, namely films. Highlights include a series of performances alongside cult world film “Baraka” (in glorious 70mm), where Cloudboy re-imagined the soundtrack in a minimal ambient context - which for many viewers intensified the visual experience; also, a group collaboration reacting to select footage from the New Zealand Film Archive, where Cloudboy first explored the potential of “noir” nostalgia. The group doesn’t exclusively perform at cinemas, but also in art galleries, even planetariums.
