Mac Gayden (born McGavock Dickinson Gayden on 5 June 1941; died 16 April 2025) was an American rock and country singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer remembered for co-writing the song "Everlasting Love", a Top 20 US Billboard hit in 1967 for Robert Knight and a number one UK hit when covered by Love Affair in January 1968.

Nashville native Gayden got many gigs as a studio musician appearing on albums by Bob Dylan and J.J. Cale (among others). He created the famous "slide-wah" guitar technique, playing slide guitar through a wah-wah pedal - made famous by J.J. Cale's "Crazy Mama."

After two albums, that band splintered and went on to form Barefoot Jerry. Mac Gayden remained with them for the first album, "Southern Delight," but the group went on to perform many more critically acclaimed albums.

In 2020, Gayden released a new album Come Along on Arena Records,
