Cool and Dre (born in Miami, Florida) are a team of hip hop producers, consisting of Andre Lyon and Marcello Valenzano from the North Miami area. They met in high school in chorus. They are best known for producing the hit singles "Hate It or Love It" for the The Game (featuring 50 Cent) and "New York" by Ja Rule (featuring Jadakiss and Fat Joe). "Hate It or Love It" peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2005.
Cool and Dre recently worked with Eazy E's son, Lil Eazy on a song called "Gangsta Shit" which will appear on his forthcoming album, Prince of Compton. The album is expected in 2006.
Cool and Dre also produced the single "Rodeo" that is featured on Juvenile's 2006 The Reality Check.
They have started their own label, called Epidemic Records, which is distributed through Jive Records. Currently they are planning on releasing an album, entitled The Trunk where Dre sings and raps, but both of them are behind the production. The first single is "Chevy Ridin' High" featuring fellow Miami artist Rick Ross. They have also signed Tony Sunshine and Dirtbag to their label.
They graduated from North Miami Senior High School. Cool graduated in 1994 and Dre graduated in 1993.
Dre is currently dating singer Christina Milian
It has been rumoured that they charge $75,000 for the production of a song
Cool and Dre are set to work with Grammy Award winning pop superstar Whitney Houston on her upcoming comeback album.
