Taj Bell has been played on NTS shows including In Focus, with Joy Part III first played on 5 July 2024.

Taj Bell is a former ballet dancer; she studied at Interlochen Arts Academy as a teenager. She also had the privilege of studying with Judith Jamison of the acclaimed ‘Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre’. Her song writing is a quirky mix of Broadway meets folk meets pop with a touch of Motown. Her songs are pixie pop! Sounds like faeries with multicoloured Afros. Taj’s lyrics are playful and funny with dreamlike imagery. With song titles like “sticky toffee pudding” and “ladyfish” one can taste the exotic ice cream flavours present in her Music. Her influences are Kate Bush, Björk, Tori Amos, and Minnie Riperton. She is currently in the studio, recording her debut album with the wonderful Rea Curran. Taj is a native Detroiter and has been featured on ‘Static Revenger’s superstar’ and has toured Japan with 4 AD recording artist Warn Defever’s band “His Name is Alive”.Taj Bell is also a talented sculptor, children’s book author and illustrator of “The Little Night fairy.” She lives in Donegal, Ireland
