Rəhman Fikrət oğlu Məmmədli was born in 1961 in Fizuli. Graduated from high school in 1978. After military service he continued his education at M. Aliyev of Azerbaijan State University of Art in 1983 and graduated in 1988. As a kid he started playing the qarmon (type of accordion) but he eventually chose the guitar. By pressing the bridge he manages to play the traditional intervals of the traditional muğam music that can't be found on the regular fretboard.
