Anorexic Beauty Queen is a band from Syracuse, New York. They have three full band releases to their credit and have delivered their live show in all ages clubs and community centers in over half of the country. From 2002 - 2006 the band spent time on the road supporting their releases including their indie label debut "This Little Light" (Aux). Anorexic Beauty Queen’s last full length effort was one of melodic arrangements and emotional lyrics that urge listeners to engage. Songs like “Soon, I Promise” and “Falling Over You” have become instant fan favorites.
During the latter part of 2006 ABQ lost their bassist Isaac Deitz to a budding film career (working with Family Force 5, House of Heroes). The start of 2007 found singer Mike Watson performing solo concerts in and around his home in Syracuse, New York. Aux Records recorded his first live solo CD, “Mistakes adn All” and released it Christmas Day 2007.
The start of 2008 finds the return of ABQ as a 3-piece and work on a new record has already started. Look for the band to return to the road summer 2008.
