Ignatius Ade - bass Deon Manunggal - synth Prihatmoko Catur - drum Benedicta R Kirana - vocal
A voice with mysterious tranquil composition and low nuance is an experiment that Moki, Ade and Deon wish to touch in deep. Through unconventional melodies and minimal musical instruments, AIRPORTRADIO release arrangements which portraying noise in a perfect silence. No hubbub guitar sound, but low voice character as a substitution to support loneliness, solitary, gloomy and place it in a serenity home of soul at the same time. In the mid of 2005, Wedhar Riyadhi joined the group as a sound programmer, which gave the band more chances in exploring unusual and bizarre tones. With this formation, they continued their journey as an experimental instrumental band, until they came to a decision that if they have a vocalist, the sense in their works would be more complete and easier to touch the audiences. AIRPORTRADIO collaborated with several vocalists, until Bennet joined the band in October, 2005. When Wedhar decided to give more concentration in his study, AIRPORTRADIO continued their voyage without a sound programmer, until now. They choose to call the band as AIRPORTRADIO for it ability in capturing a lonesome situation but hectic with voices, like we often feel in airport landing strip. AIRPORTRADIO is an amalgamation of a silent noise abstraction which turns out to be a harmonic melody arrangement. An elegant solitude and emptiness exploration without exploiting to much melancholic sense.
Their second album, Selepas Pendar Nyalang Berbayang is announced for October 25, 2018. Each of the 8 songs of the album will be accompanied by a video clip made by 8 different Yogyakarta based artists. A single, … Of the Street, has been extracted from the album and has gone air late September 2018.
