Dragged Up are an off-kilter psych-garage proto-punk band from Glasgow, formed in late 2018 with veteran members from other bands. There’s five in the band, a wee supergroup of sorts including Simon Shaw previously of the more stately Lucky Luke and Trembling Bells. Other members stem from Cosmic Dead, Las Mitras and Vom and have perhaps brought more of their previous acts’ sounds.Their 2020 debut mini-album, ‘D/U’ received positive reviews from the likes of Louder Than War: “like classic CBGBs proto-punk transplanted to rain-drenched Scottish streets” and Record Collector Magazine: “an all-seeing, culture-cannibalizing slacker classic.” It reached no.15 in Reverb is for Lovers’ Best Albums 2020, was chosen as Postcards from the Underground Best EPs 2020, and Album of the Week in Kool Strings. They have supported acts such as Large Plants, Acid Mothers Temple, White Hills, No Age and Girls in Synthesis.
