Pavel Gililov was born in Donieck (Ukraine). That artist with an exceptional musical talent graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory with honors degree where he studied under Dimitri Kabalevsky. In 1972 he won the National Piano Competition in Moscow. The artist is a laureate of Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw (Poland) and the International Competition in Vercelli (first prize).
