Daryl Johns has been played on NTS shows including Confusing Mix w/ Josh Da Costa, with Happy first played on 25 October 2024.

Daryl Johns grew up in a household filled with jazz, where he not only learned to play the upright bass but also developed a deep appreciation for the genre. While attending college in New York, he began to explore other musical styles, spurred by a hand injury that limited his ability to play the upright bass. His sound today can be described as "American Bubblegum Country Jazz Fusion" — or, as he puts it, "sugar-powered anthems for the everyman." Johns has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Drugdealer, Pat Metheny, Sam Wilkes, Onyx Collective, the Lemon Twigs, and more.

Johns' debut album, Daryl Johns, will be released on Mac's Record Label on November 22, 2024.
