Soprano, winner of the Golden Orpheus awarded by Académie du Disque Lyrique for the best contemporary music interpretation on her debut album Real Life Song. She performed in the Teatr Wielki – National Opera in Warsaw, the Grand Theatre in Poznań, the Estonian National Opera and Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville.
She graduated from the Vocal Department at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music with professor Jadwiga Rappé (2012). She also finished postgraduate vocal studies (2013) and is a PhD student at the university. Freszel is also a Master of Science in Environmental Protection (Warsaw University of Life Sciences).
Her debut album, Real Life Song, was released in 2015 by DUX record label. The singer dedicated it to pieces of Polish composers. It includes compositions by Miłosz Bembinow, Aleksander Kościów, Rafał Janiak, Agata Zubel, Sławomir Zamuszka, Andrzej Borzym junior, Jagoda Szmytka and Katarzyna Szwed. The album received nominations to the Fryderyk award in 2016 in two categories and the Golden Orpheus awarded by Academie du Disque Lyrique for the best contemporary music interpretation.
In her repertoire Freszel focuses on contemporary music, but she also draws on arias by Mozart, Donizetti and Moniuszko, cantatas by Bach and operetta repertoire. She’s not afraid to choose the most difficult repertoire, such as Mysteries of the Macabre by György Ligeti (“In the ending of the piece I could as well do 100 push-ups” – the singer said), or an exceptionally unvarying part of Psyche in Eros and Psyche by Ludomir Różycki, which she managed to interpret in a transparent and non-tiresome way.
