Carl Terrell Mitchell (born November 27, 1973), known professionally as Twista and formerly as Tung Twista, is an American rapper recognized for his rapid-fire delivery, often categorized under the chopper style of rap. In 1992, he was listed in the Guinness World Records as the fastest English-speaking rapper, having pronounced 598 syllables in 55 seconds.

Twista gained broader attention in 1997 following his appearance on Do or Die's single "Po Pimp", which was produced by the Legendary Traxster. That same year, he signed with Big Beat and Atlantic Records. In 1998, he released his third studio album, "Adrenaline Rush", and formed the group Speedknot Mobstaz.

His mainstream breakthrough came with the release of the album "Kamikaze" in 2004, which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200. The album's success was driven by the single "Slow Jamz", a collaboration with Kanye West and Jamie Foxx, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
