Migos

Migos has been played on NTS over 260 times, featured on 219 episodes and was first played on 5 December 2013.

Migos was an American hip hop group formed in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 2008. The group consisted of Quavo, his nephew Takeoff, and their friend Offset. Quavo was from Athens, Georgia, while Offset and Takeoff were born and raised in Lawrenceville. The group was managed by Coach K and frequently worked with producers DJ Durel, Murda Beatz, Zaytoven, and Buddah Bless. Migos were associated with the development of trap music in the 2010s and were noted for bringing elements of North Atlanta culture into mainstream music.

The group's 2013 single "Versace" emerged from their third mixtape, "Y.R.N. (Young Rich Niggas)", released in June 2013. The song was later remixed by Drake, which contributed to its entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Subsequent singles included "Fight Night" and "Look at My Dab" in the following years. Their 2016 single "Bad and Boujee" featuring Lil Uzi Vert reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Later singles such as "MotorSport" with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B in 2017, and "Stir Fry" and "Walk It Talk It" featuring Drake in 2018, also reached the top ten.

Migos signed with Quality Control Music and 300 Entertainment to release their debut studio album, "Yung Rich Nation" (2015), which received positive reviews and peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200. Their second album, "Culture" (2017), debuted at number one and included the single "Bad and Boujee". After moving from 300 Entertainment to a joint venture with Motown and Capitol Records in February 2017, the group released their third album, "Culture II" (2018), which also reached number one and sold approximately 200,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Their fourth album, "Culture III" (2021), peaked at number two on the Billboard 200.

In 2016, Migos appeared as fictionalized versions of themselves in the first season of the television series "Atlanta". On November 1, 2022, Takeoff was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston, leading to the disbandment of the group in 2023.
