A prolific & singular figure in jungle & drum and bass, Dillinja produced a body of work in the 1990s and 2000s that set a high water mark for club production finesse. Even now, most top producers in the genre are sure to have some secret weapon samples titled "Dillinja bass". DJ Persuasion and Dev/Null pull together two hours of his finest tracks, including anthems, rarities, well worn favourites and unreleased dubs on this In Focus.

Risqué

Risqué

Risqué has been played over 10 times on NTS, first on 15 February 2015. Risqué's music has been featured on 11 episodes.

More than one artist go by this name

1) Risqué was a dutch post-disco girl group with a distinct italo/ space disco sound, releasing a string of 12'' in the early 1980s, of which "Starlight" and "Burn it up mr Dj" are the most famous. An eponymous album was released in 1984

2) RISQUÉ is Nathalie and Huw, a new and vibrant, French and Welsh combo, wed to each other and their music. RISQUÉ's premiere release is the album TIE ME UP TIE ME DOWN out on the legendary SOME BIZZARE label in 2009.

Now RISQUÉ are avidly making music in their secret Barcelona studio. Their lavish sound comprises confident and robust driving rhythms, overlade with sweetly exotic and ethereal vocals.

Nathalie's (who is French as in the movie!) voice is spellbinding, somehow creating a lyrical synthesis of innocence and sensuality. Whats more, she intonates her lyrics in English and français, exuding a romantic pan-European aura.

The couple's romantic liaison, together with their music, makes a RISQUÉ story. They met on a rock off the beautiful North Wales coast. To escape any Anglo/French feuding between their parents, the duo ran away on a moonlight-flit to Las Vegas. There they were wed, in the Little Chapel of the West, where Elvis was married in Viva Las Vegas. But the sound of music beckoned from Europe, so the couple returned to immerse themselves and play, in the club and rave scenes of Paris and London. (by Chris Barber)
